IRON NEST System Requirements and Steam Deck Support

Check IRON NEST system requirements and Steam Deck support, including official PC hardware, Verified status, and current performance caveats.

Official PC requirements

Steam lists a 64-bit operating system, Intel Core i5-4460 or AMD FX-8350, 4 GB RAM, Intel UHD or AMD Vega 8 graphics, DirectX 10, and 5 GB storage as the minimum. The developer notes that this targets an average 30 FPS at 720p Low and recommends a dedicated GPU for smoother results.

The recommended tier is an Intel Core i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600, 8 GB RAM, GTX 1060 6 GB or RX 580 8 GB, DirectX 10, and 5 GB storage.

Steam Deck status

The official July 10 announcement said IRON NEST was playable on Steam Deck, and the live Steam listing reviewed September 2 shows a Verified compatibility rating. The same developer announcement invited reports of Deck bugs, crashes, and performance issues, so Verified should not be converted into a promise of one frame rate or battery duration in every mission.

First handheld checks

Before a long operation, test map drawing, fine rotation and elevation, calculator input, text size, mission exit and resume, and the current controller layout. Keep input hints enabled until station interactions are familiar.

Patch 4 reduced RAM use and added camera and world-space-hint options; Patch 6 is the current content baseline used here.

Version note

Hardware requirements and Deck status were checked September 2, 2026. This research did not include a physical Deck benchmark, so no unsupported FPS, thermal, or battery claim is included.
