IRON NEST Heavy Turret Simulator Controls Guide

This IRON NEST Heavy Turret Simulator controls guide explains manual station interaction, input hints, fast-versus-precise mechanisms, and verification.

Learn stations, not one universal action button

IRON NEST is deliberately manual. The developer FAQ says loading means operating the bridge and chamber and feeding each charge; map work, calculation, rotation, elevation, arming, and firing also belong to separate mechanisms. Expect to move between stations rather than control the whole turret from one screen.

Exact keyboard or controller bindings can be remapped and may differ by platform, so use the current Controls menu instead of a static key list. Patch 4 added a toggle for world-space input hints, plus camera tilt and shake customization.

A useful station order

  1. Teleprinter and notebook: receive the objective and preserve relevant coordinates or bearings.
  2. Map table: locate the target and measure from the current Nest position.
  3. Ballistic calculator: enter the firing inputs and obtain elevation.
  4. Loading station: load the intended shell and matching powder-charge count.
  5. Rotation and elevation controls: set bearing and each barrel’s elevation.
  6. Arming and firing controls: select the correct side, verify, then fire.

This order is more important than memorizing a keybind because a correct input at the wrong station still leaves the shot incomplete.

Coarse and fine adjustments

The community basics guide describes fast levers and slower handwheels for rotation and elevation. Use the lever to approach a value, then the wheel for precise alignment. Treat that as current player guidance, not a promise about every future control layout.

Version note

The manual-operation model and accessibility settings are sourced to official material through version 1.0 (1663), checked September 2, 2026. No hands-on controller test is claimed.
