Charge and elevation are one paired solution
The official description links powder charges, target range, ballistic calculation, and elevation. More propellant changes the reachable arc, so the angle calculated for one charge count is not valid after loading a different count.
Use the built-in calculator first. Enter the measured range, select a viable number of charges, calculate, and transfer the printed elevation to the intended gun. Then load exactly the selected number.
Reliable workflow
- Recheck the final target range from the Nest.
- Select the shell needed for the target effect.
- Increase the calculator’s charge setting until it accepts the range.
- Produce a fresh card and identify which barrel it will control.
- Load the shell and matching charge count.
- Set the printed elevation precisely, then verify bearing and arming.
If the charge count changes because of supply or a loading mistake, discard the old elevation and calculate again.
Community mental formula
Players have documented a proportional shortcut based on target range and charge count. It can be useful when the machine is unavailable, but it is a community-derived model rather than a developer-published firing table. This guide does not present it as real ballistics or as guaranteed across future patches.
When time allows, compare any manual result with the working in-game calculator. A red or invalid state is a reason to add charge capacity, not to force an elevation outside the gun’s range.
Version note
The official pairing and the current community shortcut were reviewed for 1.0 (1663) on September 2, 2026. Formula-dependent advice remains mixed until verified in the installed build.
