The rating and the support promise are different
CanOpener’s August 23 announcement reports a Valve Playable rating. It also says the studio does not officially support the device at that time and cannot guarantee an optimal experience. These statements are compatible: a platform assessment is not the same as an ongoing developer support commitment. Official compatibility announcement.
Valve distinguishes Playable games, which may need adjustments, from Verified games intended to work smoothly without those extra steps. Valve’s rating explanation.
Four issues to expect
- Some prompts may display mouse, keyboard or other controller symbols.
- Text entry may require opening the on-screen keyboard yourself.
- Some interface text may be difficult to read.
- The supported native display resolution may need manual selection.
Check these practical issues in a short session before assuming that a readable menu guarantees comfortable extended play. Begin with the game’s current options and your device’s compatibility details; there is no need to install an unofficial “Deck fix” simply because the badge is yellow.
What this guide does not claim
We have not measured battery life, frame rate or late-game performance on Deck. This page therefore provides no purported best preset or Proton override.
The developer expressed interest in improving handheld support but supplied no specific timetable in the reviewed announcement. A possible future improvement is not a Verified badge today.
