Early Access window
RedRuins currently expects Breathedge 2 to remain in Early Access for roughly 16 to 20 months. The studio explicitly says that range may change with development progress, player feedback, and the scope of revisions.
Counting months from August 31 can illustrate the size of the window, but it does not create an official 1.0 date. No specific day should be published until the developer announces one.
Confirmed development directions
The Steam Early Access statement identifies these planned areas of work:
- continue the main story beyond the launch chapter;
- open additional exploration areas, including play on a planetary surface;
- add characters, quests, items, equipment, and world interactions;
- expand survival and exploration mechanics;
- introduce small flying and ground vehicles;
- add a personal spacecraft and warp-jump system;
- develop building as a major system;
- continue balance, interface, usability, performance, and bug work.
These are roadmap intentions, not a checklist of features already usable in 0.8.5. The order and exact scope can change.
What version 0.8.5 contains
The launch build provides the first major story chapter, a large space area, and the core loop of scavenging, crafting, equipment upgrades, repairs, combat, main and side quests, NPCs, and optional discoveries.
Planetary traversal, the personal spacecraft, warp jumping, and full building coverage belong in a future-content section until a patch note moves them into the live build.
How feedback affects the plan
The studio says feedback can influence balance, interface and usability, quality-of-life work, existing mechanics, bug priorities, and future-update content. It retains control of the overall story and direction.
The in-game Report Bug command is available through the pause menu. A reproducible description and attached save are more useful than treating a wishlist item as an announced feature.
This roadmap snapshot was reviewed on September 2, 2026. It is marked mixed because the statements are official while every future scope and timing estimate remains conditional.
