Survival starts before an encounter. Scan the room, identify an exit, decide whether the threat blocks real progress, and spend ammunition only when avoidance is unsafe. The official store description explicitly frames bullets, food, medicine, tools, and inventory space as scarce resources.
First-session priorities
- Learn how to inspect a magazine and complete the manual reload steps away from danger.
- Leave open grid space for a key tool or newly found backpack upgrade.
- Search side rooms methodically, then return to the main route.
- Use sound deliberately; gunfire can attract nearby threats.
- Watch the game’s visual and audio condition feedback because there is no conventional HUD.
- Continue from a current save after patching instead of reproducing an old launch workaround immediately.
A safe encounter decision
Ask whether the enemy blocks a required door, tool, or puzzle. If it does not, avoidance preserves ammunition and health. If fighting is necessary, prepare the weapon first, choose a retreat path, and stop firing once the route is clear.
