Quick answer
Version 1.03 is the current official patch in this dated snapshot. Install it before reproducing a launch workaround, but read the known-issues section because the update does not claim every progression state is solved.
Main version 1.03 changes
- adds labels to the overview map and adjusts some collision boundaries;
- improves spitter behavior and restores saved mouse sensitivity;
- prevents collection of backpacks that are not upgrades;
- clarifies sickness and low-health feedback;
- stops puzzle positions and rotations from persisting;
- adds or repeats save triggers and fixes a quick-heal weapon lock;
- increases the physics engine frame rate;
- lists possible fixes for keybind, elevator, door, and enemy states.
Known issues to retain
The official notes still warn about Chapter 2 direct-start item transfer, some text and rebinding behavior, difficulty or modifier changes requiring restart, a death state not saving, one Dormitory door interaction, and a non-English progression trigger.
Version 1.02 addressed pins, doors, controls, enemies, difficulty tuning, and possible progression blockers. Version 1.01 addressed maps, keybinds, save triggers, a punch-card puzzle, flashlight behavior, and achievement checks. Use the official feed for meaning and SteamDB for build chronology.
