Collection is a combat decision
The developers explicitly confirm that soul absorption works while moving. Capcom’s final preview also shows Daidara consuming loose souls, making delayed collection a real tactical cost in that encounter. Movement does not mean the collection decision has become risk-free.
Our practical rule is to decide before starting a long sequence whether you need an opening for damage or an opening to recover resources. If you keep attacking automatically, you may lose the opportunity you meant to use.
Use a visible escape route
Create distance while keeping the active threat on screen, then collect when you understand its next commitment. Avoid backing blindly into a corner just because movement is possible during absorption. A safe direction depends on the arena and the enemy, not a universal instruction to retreat.
Against a soul-consuming opponent, do not evaluate a failed attempt only by damage dealt. Notice how many collection opportunities you postponed and whether greed left the arena’s resources available to the boss.
Keep upgrades and immediate combat needs separate
Capcom also connects souls and found treasures with equipment improvement and new abilities. That does not establish an unlimited farming loop or an optimal early upgrade order.
Before spending, read the exact upgrade description and ask which repeated problem it addresses. If your issue is failing to recognize a follow-up, a larger number will not automatically teach that timing. Use upgrades to support a plan you understand, and keep testing the plan independently of your equipment.
