Onimusha Break Issen and Boss Weak-Point Choices

Onimusha Way of the Sword break Issen weak points guide explains stamina openings and choosing damage or recovery during boss encounters.

Earn the opening before planning the finisher

The official hands-on links depleted enemy stamina with an Issen Break opening. During its Ganryu encounter, it describes selectable targets offering different benefits: heavy damage or resources and healing. Do not assume every exposed point has the same purpose.

This guide is about choosing an opening’s value, not a complete list of every boss target. The reviewed material does not establish universal weak-point names, damage multipliers or a mandatory target order.

Choose for the state of this attempt

Before committing, assess your health and the part of the encounter you still need to learn. When you are one mistake from defeat, recovery may buy more time to understand a later sequence. When survival is comfortable and the enemy is nearly finished, direct damage may be the more useful conversion.

That is an editorial decision framework, not a tested damage ranking. A target that is ideal on a practiced run may be a poor choice during your first encounter.

Review whether the opening solved the problem

After the finisher, reset your attention to the boss rather than assuming the exchange is over. Check camera position and the next attack before resuming pressure.

Capcom’s later preview emphasizes encounters with different resource pressures and attack patterns. Carry forward the habit of reading the current prompt, but not the assumption that the previous boss’s solution will work unchanged. Learning why you chose a target makes the next attempt more consistent.
