PC is outside the console crossplay pairing
The official NBA 2K27 FAQ explicitly limits crossplay to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A Steam player should not expect to join a friend’s console match simply because both have a 2K account.
This is not the same as asking whether the PC release has online multiplayer. It does. The restriction concerns which platform populations can play together.
The auction market has its own platform list
The MyTEAM report names PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 for the unified Auction House. PC is not in that list. Notice that this list also differs from the crossplay pairing: sharing a market is not proof of sharing matches.
Treat advice about console card supply, transaction behavior or pricing cautiously when using the PC market. A recommendation can be accurate for a console audience and still be unsuitable for your Steam account.
Make the group decision before purchasing
Ask every intended teammate for their platform and intended mode. Write down the exact combination rather than assuming a family of devices is one platform.
Linking accounts does not override a published platform restriction. We have not verified a supported workaround and do not recommend account-sharing services or unofficial crossplay tools. If 2K announces a later change, its current FAQ should be the first place to recheck.
